Building Partnerships to Accelerate Alzheimer's Research

The National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) is the centralized data repository and collaboration hub for the National Institute on Aging's (NIA) Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRC) Program. For over 25 years, NACC has advanced the field by supporting researchers with rich longitudinal datasets, innovative informatics tools, and a nationwide network of investigators.

NACC curates one of the largest and most comprehensive AD/ADRD datasets in the world. Our modern Data Platform integrates clinical, neuroimaging, genetic, biomarker, and real-world health data, providing a foundation for high-impact scientific discovery.

We are seeking new partners from foundations, philanthropic organizations, and industry to accelerate progress toward effective prevention, earlier detection, and improved treatments for Alzheimer's disease.

Why Partner with NACC

National Leadership and Proven Impact

As the central coordinating hub for the National Institute on Aging's Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers Program, NACC serves a unique role in unifying research efforts across the United States.

Our network spans 36 active ADRCs distributed across 25 states, creating a comprehensive national infrastructure that facilitates collaborative AD/ADRD research on an unprecedented scale. This geographic reach ensures that diverse populations and regional perspectives are represented in our research efforts, while our coordinating function enables standardized data collection, shared protocols, and seamless collaboration between institutions that might otherwise operate in isolation.

By bringing together this extensive network under a unified framework, NACC has established the foundation for large-scale, longitudinal studies that would be impossible for any single institution to conduct independently.

Innovative Infrastructure

NACC's technological infrastructure centers on two key platforms that facilitate secure, comprehensive data access and analysis. The NACC Data Front Door and LINKAGE Enclave provide cloud-based tools that allow researchers to securely access and analyze complex, multimodal datasets from across our network. This integrated platform creates a unified research environment that brings together neuroimaging, genetic, biomarker, and clinical data under one accessible framework.

A Record of Successful Partnerships

NACC collaborates with a wide range of partners to amplify impact:

  • SCAN (Standardized Centralized AD/ADRD Neuroimaging): Partnering with LONI and ADRCs to standardize and share thousands of MRI and PET scans, supporting global research on brain imaging biomarkers.
  • CLARiTI (Consortium for Clarity in AD/ADRD Research Through Imaging): Expanding national infrastructure for advanced neuroimaging and plasma biomarker integration.
  • NCRAD and NIAGADS: Collaborating to integrate fluid biomarker and genomic data, enhancing opportunities for multi-omic analyses and precision medicine.
  • Alzheimer's Association: Co-funding the New Investigator Awards to support early-career scientists driving innovative AD/ADRD research.

Opportunities for Partnership

Through partnership with NACC, organizations can:

  • Advance Cutting-Edge Research: Partner with us to develop pipelines for real-world data, digital biomarkers, genetic data, and advanced imaging that accelerate discovery.
  • Leverage Shared Infrastructure: Access and contribute to our cloud-based infrastructure and analytical tools for global scientific collaboration.
  • Expand Research Impact: Collaborate on initiatives that improve access to ADRC participant data through intuitive platforms and dashboards for researchers worldwide.
  • Nurture Scientific Talent: Join us in expanding programs like the New Investigator Awards to develop the next generation of AD/ADRD scientists.

Partnerships may include co-funding of strategic initiatives, support for pilot studies and supplements, or investment in transformative infrastructure projects.
